Costume Store.

I collected items that weren't of any great value for rehearsals from the costume store today. Previously Katie and I had a good look at what was in the store, to see what we might be able to use for the production. Below are some pictures of the items we are considering:

I like this hat for the sultan with some fabric draped around it and the actor's head. It has a very good shape. I will keep my eye out in the hire departments to see if there's anything else, however I really like this.
This might do for a tartan although my concern is it is recognisably Stewart tartan, which has its own connotations and I think I'd like more obscure tartans.
This is exactly what I was looking for for the Merchant's Wife and it is the right colour too.
Belts, belts, belts, some are better than others but these all have a medieval look so we will see what works in the fittings.
Overall I'm pleased there are some items that are good for the play. I'm finding it quite interesting thinking how things will work and how items could be dressed up to create something more similar to my designs. I think this will also be an exciting challenge when it comes to going to the different hire departments.
